Remember the time...

Rev. Jack Elliott (RJ)
is a Playwright, Theologian, and Storyteller!

Since the beginning of mankind, storytelling has been used to connect, engage, inspire, heal, and create a brighter future. Stories are essential for defining our legacy. Stories tell our loved ones where we come from, how our life got to be the way that it is, and more importantly, how we got over it, got out of it, began again, did it anyway, and how we transcended any challenge that showed up in our life. Stories resonate because they are the building blocks of understanding, empathy, and human connection.

"Do you remember ..."

At ElderPride, we experience the extraordinary power of storytelling through the narratives of our elder LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters (and those that love us.) As elders we are called to be the mentors, teachers, and guides; this is our legacy work. Know this; there are stories that we want to tell, need to tell, and more significantly, stories that we never what to forget. Our focus is to ensure that our stories are relevant. With that in mind, we will keep our attention on our intention and our intention is this:

Our stories empower the listener to learn from our errors, celebrate our wins, and to see us, hear us, and celebrate the journey we’ve transcended.

Our call to action, for you the recipient of our stories, is to be inspired to live your most authentic life. So, dear recipient, read, listen, and share our stories. Notice what you notice and more importantly, contemplate why you noticed what you noticed.  Then, tell your story. To begin, all you have to do is complete this sentence stem:

“Remember the time…”
